Detailed Description:
Letter concerning a divorce by R. Avraham Abeli b. Tovia Guttman haKohen Rapaport (1878-1942), rabbi of Kielce. He was educated by his father who was rabbi in Kielce for 36 years. An erudite scholar he wrote several responsa works of which only Birkat Kohen (Pietrkov 1907) was published. He perished in the Holocaust
Kielce is a city in south central Poland with 196,335 inhabitants. It has been the capital city of the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship since 1999, and was previously the capital of the predecessor Kielce Voivodeship. The town carries the distinction of The Kielce Pogrom was an outbreak of violence toward the Jewish community centre's gathering of refugees in the city of Kielce, Poland on 4 July 1946 by Polish soldiers, police officers, and civilians during which 42 Jews were killed and more than 40 were wounded Polish courts later sentenced nine of the attackers to death in connection with the crimes
