Detail Description
Year round prayerbook for daily, Sabbath, High and Festive Holidays, Avot following the rites and customs of Ashkenaz with a french translation by Joel Anspach, French religious writer; born about 1800; died September, 1872. He was the only brother of Philippe Anspach. Joel was the first to translate the daily prayers from Hebrew into French. In 1842 he published his "Paroles d'un Croyant Israélite"—a polemical work directed against Catholic proselytism, and which, therefore, occasioned much comment.
